The firm further cemented its position as a leading legal adviser to AIM-listed companies and their financial advisers.

Fieldfisher's equity capital markets team acted for clients on more than 50 transactions with a combined value of over £1.1 billion (€1.25 billion) across the London and Paris capital markets in 2022.

While the number and overall value of deals was below the extremely high transaction volumes seen in 2021, as a consequence of slower stock market activity, the firm continued to expand its market share of London AIM-listed and Euronext Growth Paris Market-listed issuer clients.

According to Perfect Information's ECMI Annual Report, Fieldfisher was ranked as the leading legal adviser to AIM-listed companies by deal volume and value in 2022 and acted on two of the top five largest AIM deals last year.

Despite a less busy IPO market in 2022 – with the total number of IPOs across both the London Stock Exchange's Main and AIM markets dropping by 62% from the previous year according to analysis by EY – Fieldfisher acted on two admissions to AIM and began 2023 with a strong pipeline of companies looking to list this year.

Secondary issues were similarly down on 2021, however Fieldfisher strengthened its position as the firm of choice for companies looking to raise money on AIM, expanding its client roster.

Our Paris equity capital markets team also had a robust year despite weaker market activity.

Commenting on the firm's performance in 2022, Fieldfisher's Head of Equity Capital Markets Brad Isaac said:

"Following a frenetic year for the capital markets in 2021, last year was far more measured giving us the opportunity to work with clients on more strategic smaller transactions.

"This has set us in good stead for a strong 2023, with our issuer and broker clients gearing up for bigger deals in the months ahead.

"We are pleased to have further cemented our position as a leading adviser to AIM-listed companies, especially in core sectors such as energy, mining and life sciences. Having strengthened our team, we look forward to working with even more new clients this year."
